-1/7/2007-present: Director of the Centre of Molecular and Environmental Biology (CBMA), UMinho, Portugal.

-Coordinator of the MSc in Ecology and Coordination Member of the CBMA-PhD Program of UMinho.

-Associate Editor of Ecology@ and Limnetica.

-Working Group in Skills in Micro and Nanotechnology, UMinho since 2009.

-Created a collection of aquatic fungi (>1000 isolates; 70 species) from Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Czechoslovakia, India and Australia.

-Grants evaluation for National Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) in the fields of Environmental Sciences (2012), Biological Sciences (2013-14); NWO Division for Earth and Life Sciences (2014); NERC-UK (The Natural Environment Research Council, 2015).

-Scientific Events (last 4 years): Scientific and Organizing Committees and Co-Chair in the XVI Iberian Society of Limnology Congress (2012, UMinho). Organizing Committees: International Barcode of Life conference (ECBOL-2010 UMinho), 2nd Portuguese Nanotoxicology Meeting (E2N-2013, Lisbon); 6th International Oligochaete Taxonomy Meeting (6th IOTM 2013, Palmeira de Faro, Portugal).

Programa do workshop: 

Serão abordadas questões pertinentes sobre os tóxicos e os contaminantes de maior preocupação, como os nanomateriais, os fármacos e os microplásticos, a nível da saúde humana e do ambiente. Será referida a legislação vigente (e a falta dela) para assegurar a inocuidade dos referidos compostos.  Serão apresentados casos de estudo e identificadas as principais lacunas do conhecimento para cada composto.

A atividade com cada turno terá a duração de 2h.
